Keen Headquarters Great Room
Portland, Oregon-based Keen Footwear recently enlisted Ohm Systems to upgrade the audio, video and control systems in their Great Room – their large multi-use space at their Pearl District headquarters that functions as an employee lounge, cafeteria and all-hands meeting space.
Keen has been a client of Ohm’s for many years, taking advantage of new technologies as they become available to upgrade and improve their audio/video systems. Several years ago, Ohm Systems relocated and replaced their projector with a high-output model capable of overcoming the high levels of ambient light in the Great Room.
More recently, Ohm Systems returned to rehabilitate an aging sound system that was slowly failing and no longer meeting their needs. The existing overhead speakers remained in place and operational, while two JBL column array speakers were installed on either side of the screen, greatly improving speech intelligibility and clarity.
All amplification was replaced and upgraded to modern high-efficiency models with integrated DSP, and the audio processor was replaced and recalibrated to ensure that the new audio system performed at its best.
The existing wireless microphone system was upgraded, and antennas were extended into the Great Room to ensure reliable reception throughout the space.
The control system was replaced with an intuitive Crestron in-wall touch screen providing simple level control of all audio sources and speaker zones.
Finally, two PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) conferencing cameras were installed to provide two unique perspectives during live streaming events.
